Cello & Violinbabies and Kathleen
I have been searching for years for a program just like Stringbabies! It is the only comprehensive strings program available that teaches violin and cello to preschool children that has proven successful and builds the foundation required for my students to participate with the Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program once they complete the Stringbabies program.
Stringbabies was carefully developed with the pre-reader in mind and eliminates the normal struggles of reading conventional music for the pre-reader, allowing the student to focus on learning to play their violin or cello. Students then migrate to reading, playing and composing music using conventional notation with ease without the common difficulties that occur with the younger student. Students learn proper technique, they develop composition, singing, rhythmic and aural skills. Students are engaged throughout the lessons singing songs, playing games and composing music which builds confidence and creativity.
I am very excited to be the first teacher in the United States to offer Stringbabies to my students. Teaching strings to preschoolers can now be enjoyable and rewarding and the students will love learning and attending their lessons.
My thoughts on teaching music
People often ask me when they should start their child in piano lessons. My answer: as soon as possible! It is never too early to start exposing your child to the world of music. Children learn best through play. They experience the world through all of their senses, and they are constantly learning. They will not respond well to lengthy explanations or drills. A play-centered environment allows them to learn without even realizing they are learning.
