Stringbabies and Angela

As a strings teacher (cello, viola and violin), I aim to introduce children to their instrument, developing their skills and fostering a lifelong love of music. I foster creativity and work on musicianship and good posture too. Lessons include games to develop pitch and rhythm. Lessons are colourful, full of enthusiasm and fun. Exams – (Victoria College, Trinity or ABRSM) can be taken when appropriate. I also encourage my students to take part in the local music festival and ensemble groups when they are ready to do so.

Musical experience

I began violin and piano at the age of 10 and then cello at 13. I attended a school with a dynamic music teacher and was able to play in various musical groups from the outset. My degree is in Education and Music with cello as my first study instrument. I began work as a primary school teacher and taught some cello privately in my spare time. I have taught in a variety of schools including being in charge of a music department in a prep school. I have been working for West Sussex Music service for the last 14 years. I am now focusing on stringed instrument teaching including Stringbabies. I enjoy playing in a string quartet and in several local orchestras.
